Needle Set And Pattern Giveaways

If you read my last post, you know why it's useful to possess a variety of knitting needles made from different materials. With that in mind, the folks at Knitter's Pride have generously offered a deluxe set of their interchangeable Karbonz Needles for me to give away to one lucky knitter!

KarbonzDeluxeIC copy

But wait, there's more!
In addition to that, I'm also doing a pattern giveaway for three of my favorite patterns: Delancey Cardigan (regular or plus-size), Brewster Pullover or my Rosendale Slouchy Hat.

Knitdarling-Delancey-Giveaway

Here's how to enter:
Leave a comment on this post telling me which is your favorite pattern from the list above. Please share this post because the more people that comment, the more patterns I will give away :)

The grand prize will receive the Karbonz needle set, and all three patterns. Runner-ups will receive the pattern mentioned in their comment.

One entry per person, please. I will email winners next weekend (March 23, 2014), so keep an eye on your inbox!

PS
If you're a fan of free patterns (and who isn't?!), you'll love this new thing I'm doing with my email list. For anyone who signs up, I will send you a free copy of my Cabled Dad Hat pattern as a thank you gift (just for a limited time). The sign-up form is in the right column of my website.

I've signed up for your email list, too, and thanks for that free pattern. I just know its gonna get cast on this week, despite my best WIP intentions!!!

A quick search on Rav shows that the Delancey has been in my queue since queued December 30, 2010. I NEED TO VANQUISH IT!! :p

I love the Delancey cardigan, it's been in my queue ever since it came out!

I almost bought the Rosendale Slouchy Hat pattern, but decided to finish making your Cabled Dad pattern first. Rosendale is my favourite since it is still winter here and I'd like to make more hats. The sweater patterns are lovely, but I'm more of an accessories knitter. I love the knit & purl pattern of Rosendale and think the pattern would be fun to make and to wear. But, back to cabling a dad hat with Lima. I love that yarn.

Delancey Cardigan, hands down. My sister and I are talking about a little KAL for this, although as she's expecting her first baby in August, I think we'd better get cracking.....

  • Tamara

Like many above, Delancey, though I do really like the Brewster cardigan, too. Delancey's been in the queue for longer, so I've been thinking about it longer.

  • Susan

I love using different types of needles. My go-to needle is Symphonie Dreamz or Knit Picks Harmony. I have been thinking of trying some Karbonz. I like the Rosendale Slouchy Hat.

  • Lindsey

I love that Brewster Pullover. Looks a like a great fit plus fun colorwork! Also, I would love to try another needle set! My local yarn shop was just telling me about these. My knit picks interchangable cables keep coming loose from the metal ends.

My choice is the Rosendale Slouchy Hat because it is something that I can easily knit for someone and I don't have to ask what size they are. That way it is a surprise for them and for me it is the the joy of giving plus the sanity knitting provides me. Thank you for posting it! Elischewah (Ellen)

  • Robbie

Thanks so much for sharing this post from Alexis. I'm starting my sweater knitting journey. It makes sense to me that needles impact gauge. I think I'll try the experiment myself with my needles. While I love both sweaters, neither is one I'd wear because of my body shape so I'm throwing my hat in to win the Rosedale Slouchy Hat.

  • Jennifer

I've admired the Delancey Cardigan for quite a while. I'd love to knit it (plus size). Your gauge/needle material post was also fascinating.

  • Patrice Fountain

Delancey cardigan would be my choice. There are so few patterns for 'generous sized' ladies that are attractive. I really enjoyed the post about gauge. So many of us fail to consider gauge even though EVERY pattern discusses the topic. Thanks!

  • Joanne willoughby

Would LOVE to make the Delancey cardigan and love the hat too. I also would not mind a new set of needles! Thanks!

  • Janine

Delancey is gorgeous, but I'd probably never knit it. That hat, however, would be a great addition to my Wisconsin winter stash!

I love that hat, and the cardigan. So I hope I win.

  • Rebecca Pfeiffer

I LOVE your Delancy Cardigan and have it on my Ravelry Queue for what seems like forever. The stumbling block is that I really want to knit it in the yarn called for - Capra - but I just need to save my money for a sweater's worth of that yarn. All of your patterns have a great designer look to them, though! Thanks for the offer~

  • Jill B.

The Delancey cardigan is my favorite, but I have already knit it! I am loving Brewster too! Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Fuego Azul

Your knits are gorgeous & very classy! The Delancey Cardigan is love at first sight for me though! It looks like it belongs in a 1960's classic, starring Audry Hepburn, or Mia Farrow. Thank you for the opportunity of a great giveaway! :)

  • Tia6

The Delancey cardigan is beautiful, although I love a good hat, so Rosendale is very appealing. My fave, though, is the Dad Hat you list below - ooooh, cables!

  • Nancy Kaye

Love your post about gauge. Thank you. And since I tend to like textural knitting better than color changing, I gotta go with the hat as #1. Always willing to fight a bad hair day the easy way -- wear a hat!

  • Ge Ge

I absolutely love the Brewster Pullover. This would be a great first sweater as the color work looks so awesome. When I first saw it, my heart skipped a beat.

  • Amanda

Brewster all the way, baby! I LOVE it! You were truly inspired to design something so fabulous! Thank you for the wonderful hat pattern. It will be on my needles soon. And, thank you for the chance to win such a beautiful set of needles. Only in my dreams would I own such a nice set of needles. ♥

  • Elise Martinez

I really like the Brewster pullover; not only is it a great design, it would be fun for my daughter as Brewster is a character she loves on Chuggington. Knitters Pride tend to be my favorite needles, knitting on some Dreamz circulars right now, and I could really use a set of interchangeables.

  • Diana Priebe

I really like the Rosendale Slouchy Hat which is strange because I'm not a big fan of knitting hats. Go figure. I've been contemplating buying the Karbonz interchangeable set after reading several articles about the differences in gauge using different needles.

I love the Delancey Cardigan and the fact that it comes in bigger sizes. I finally figured out that you can use circulars for small pieces instead of double points so I love that you're offering a set of needles, too.

The Delancy Cardigan has been in my Ravelry favorites for quite some time. I love the way the CC stripes make your eye travel and add so much style (and attitude!) for such a simple detail. Having knit your Turnstone Pullover and Nora Dress, I have no doubt that the Delancy Cardigan would be an equally intuitive and fun knit. You're an inspiration!

I love the Delancey cardigan and the chevron stripes, and flattering style,. When my kids were little I made sweaters for all of us and I haven't since then, and they are all grown up, 35, 27 and 25 years old. I have recently lost 50 # and have been wanting to make a sweater again. I love your patterns and models, and would also love to try knitters pride carbonz needles. I loved reading about all knitters pride does for women and girls in India.

I love them all.Hard to choose. One of my granddaughters was asking for a slouchy hat so i guess I will go with the Rosendale Slouchy Hat.She is 12 and she loves hats and fingerless gloves...I have always used the Walmart needles,so I don't know what it is like to use good needles.Always say I am gonna splurge, but something always comes up.Would love to win the needles and patterns.

I never knew that the material of the needle would have such an impact on the finished knit. I only use wooden needles but will have to try out others now too. I'd love to win a set of these. The Delancey Cardigan looks like such a fresh and flattering design. (And thanks for offering the Cabled Dad hat. I downloaded it a while back and am looking forward to casting on!)

Sherry- Yes! The Delancey is named for the street in Manhattan. It's a funny story actually. I always have a hard time naming my sweaters, and this one was no different. I was riding the subway to work one morning, while sketching out some different collar ideas for the design, when the train stopped at Delancey Street. The doors opened, and this crazy guy kind of stumbled onto the train, staggered right up to me, took one look at my sketch and said, "I would buy that!". I took it as a sign, and named the pattern Delancey :)

I love the Brewster and already made it!! See Ravelry for my finished project: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/RJReid/brewster-pullover. I used mostly Karbonz sz US6 but also my KnitPicks Harmony of the same size for holding stitches and transferring stitches back to Karbonz. I'm very please with the finished sweater. I've also used a smaller size Karbonz for pair of gloves and they turned out beautifully as well. I definitely base my needle selection on my project type. I've looked closely at Delancey and Rosendale a few times, but just haven't made a decision.

Hi! Love the Rosendale Slouchy Hat. The sweaters are also lovely, but I hate running in all the extra ends that result from using multiple colors. I am a huge fan of interchangeable needles, although I haven't tried this material yet. I usually use wood or bamboo, and almost never use DPN's or standard straight needles any more. I love how I can carry all the sizes around and be ready for anything!

I have recently become quite discouraged with the needles I have purchased so many of from an online company. I'm coming in a might late on this one but I have to say that the Rosendale Slouchy hat pattern is one of my favourite patterns that I have knitted for my charity The Breast Cancer Clinic at my local hospital. For many of the women who haven't lost their hair but has thinned, the Rosendale Slouchy hat has generous sizing and the wide band grips well onto the head, it is a favourite with the ladies who at a time in their life are so vulnerable. The demand for this hat knitted in the Rosendale pattern is high so much so that I have knitted all through this summer (and it's been a hot one with temps more than 30 degrees).

  • Dawn

I do like your Brewster Pullover, but I think I'd be more likely to knit your Delancey Cardigan at this time. My wardrobe needs some more cardigans, and I love its silhouette.

The Brewster pullover...but then I would have to knit it, wouldn't I?

The Brewster pullover has top down construction and promises another way to knit in sleeves - it is my favorite. The sweater would be a workhorse in my wardrobe- one that would get lots of wear. It would be delightful to have this pattern in one of my knitting bags with the Brewster sweater on a pair of knitters pride needles. I didn't think I liked wooden needles until I got a set of knitters pride needles and I love them. There is such a difference in quality among brands of needles. My advice to new knitters would be to invest in good needles from the start. It would be such a joy to own a Karbonz set.

I love the very graphic pullover. The colors and pattern are both unusual and striking. I use all kinds of knitting needles and find I need them all too! The Carbonz look like a fine addition, am whetting my hands for them already! And thank you for sharing the hat pattern.

I really like the Delancey - the biased stripes are most original and the name evokes a casual yet chic je-ne-sais-quoi that is captured in the shapeliness of the cardigan. I too have just tried the Karbonz recently and am fascinated by the space-age materials with which we lucky knitters of the 21st century are able to dabble!

The Brewster Pullover is AMAZING! My great aunt taught me how to knit and crochet, and I've been obsessed ever since! She passed away last year and I miss her so much! She left me a lot of her yarn and materials, so I like to knit and crochet to keep her in my mind.

Wow! Thanks for the chance to win a pattern and the Karbonz Needles. I'd love the Delancey Cardigan. I'm not very good at colorwork, but these stripes seem totally doable and would be a great learning opportunity. I've heard some great thing about Karbonz and would love to have a set.

My favorite is the Delancey Cardigan, it is one of the most striking cardigans I have ever seen. The design is outstanding because the sweater will look good on any one. And for me, it would be a challenge to knit this because of the color work, I'm trying to do things I have never done before in my knitting. And last but not least I would LOVE to try the Karbonz Needles.

I've had my eye on the Delancey cardigan since my early days on Ravelry ... I knit the Vera cardigan from Knitscene a few winters ago and it's my most-worn cardigan ever, so I'd love to knit another of your cardigans (and I wouldn't mind trying out those Karbonz, either).

I am loving the Delancey Cardigan. The colours are putting me in a Sping-y state of mind and who can resist stripes. I'm pretty sure there will be a Rosendale in my future too, regardless of the generous giveaway outcome. Thank you! and happy SPRING!!!
