Second Edition!
The Shilah Cardigan pairs a generously roomy, boxy body with slim sleeves for an easy layer that feels relaxed without overwhelming your outfit. Modified drop shoulders extend the silhouette beyond the natural shoulder line, while the fitted sleeves balance the soft drape of the open front. Airy eyelets and inset pockets add interest and everyday practicality—a comfortable cardigan to slip on over a favorite tee or dress.
The body is worked flat in separate pieces from the bottom up, while the sleeves are worked flat from the top down for easy length adjustment. Drop shoulders emphasize the relaxed fit, and ribbed edgings provide a neat finish at the cuffs, hem, pockets, and front opening. Seamed construction adds structure to the soft silhouette, creating a comfortable cardigan you'll reach for season after season.

VIDEO TUTORIALS
The pattern includes links to tutorials for the alternating cable cast-on, blocking, mattress stitch, picking up stitches, and the alternating cable bind-off.
FIT & SIZING
Shilah pairs a roomy, boxy body with slim sleeves and modified drop shoulders. Choose approximately 9½″ (24 cm) of positive ease at the bust; for example, a 44″ bust would wear size L (53½″ finished bust).
Sizing down also narrows the sleeves, so check both bust and sleeve measurements. Because the shoulders extend down the arm, the schematic’s upper-sleeve circumference is measured just above the elbow—not at the upper arm.
SKILL LEVEL & TECHNIQUES
Intermediate. The eyelet repeat is simple, but maintaining it through simultaneous shaping requires some sweater-knitting experience.
Techniques include knitting flat, increases and decreases, inset pockets, picking up stitches, and seaming. Linked videos cover casting on, blocking, mattress stitch, picking up stitches, and an optional decorative bind-off.
